Sustainability

At Cititec, we commit to interacting responsibly with local and international communities and the natural environment, as part of our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme. We also commit to investing in our people and processes and maintaining policy and action around equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI). We adopt a company-wide approach to sustainability, requiring that our people at every level are mindful of the following commitments.

 

Corporate Sustainability and Responsibility

At Cititec, we’re committed to a sustainable future for employees, candidates, clients and the communities in which we work. Part of our action towards this commitment is to ensure our candidates and clients are happy with our service. Therefore, we monitor our service and pay close attention to candidate and client feedback.   It’s important to us that our processes are efficient and robust. To reinforce our commitment to quality, we applied for and achieved accreditation to ISO9001.

Cititec believe that we should use our skills and resources to become fully involved in finding sustainable solutions to global and local issues. We work alongside government, recruitment and banking industry bodies and specialist groups to create shared value and to help communities grow and prosper.

Our individual and collective skills and experiences ensure that Cititec is involved in issues surrounding:

• Health and welfare

• Environment

• Enterprise

• Sports and the arts

We become involved in and raise funds for numerous charities, including the Hoja Project, Tender, Macmillan, St Martins-in-the-Fields art exhibition, local sports groups, Run to the Beat, Always A Chance, Walsgrave Hospital, Tikva, Back A Buddy and Movember.  Charitable giving is a way of life at Cititec.

It’s not just about throwing money at the problem; a number of our people volunteer within their communities as well as with larger established organisations and not-for-profits. For example, Cititec’s people lend their skills to Scope, Autism Concern, Clapham Alexandra FC and How it Ended Productions.

 

The Environment

Our environmental sustainability programme exemplifies our commitment to sustainability and CSR. We are ISO14001 accredited – described as “industry leading” by the assessors. Cititec has an environmental team who focus on developing and implementing sustainable practices and policies for all employees and offices. Initiatives include Waste Reduction and Recycling,

Energy Conservation, Environmentally Preferable Purchasing, Water Conservation and Alternative Transportation.

 

Equality, Diversity and Inclusion

At Cititec we explore the meaning of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) in recruitment practice, and look at how this issue directly affects our business. We are Equality Assured recruiters and actively take part in a range of activities across the industry and our client base.  These include:

• Women in technology

• Women in banking

• Transgender workers in banking and technology

• Minority groups

• Supporting initiatives to get people from disadvantaged backgrounds into the industry

Cititec has a dedicated EDI team and EDI champions, who, along with an outside advisory consultancy (Sateo), ensure that we not only adhere to, but exceed, best practice.
