Our client is looking for an IT Systems Analyst to help create a new development environment for its Sara/Progress Application. The current Software Configuration Management Process is based on Tugboat Roundtable software which has been customized in order to include specific compilation and deployment rules. To integrate the new infrastructure in the process changes should be performed inside the Roundtable configuration and on some Sara/Progress programs. The goal of the project is to analyse the development tasks to perform, determine the workload, the associated costs and planning. The required skills are: Tugboat Roundtable i.e. Roundtable custom code development (Roundtable API, rtbevents.p …) and Roundtable application general knowledge; Progress 4GL (OpenEdge 10.1B) development skills (including classes, OCX, Application servers, Windows UI…); Progress OpenEdge IDE (Studio, client); OpenEdge 10.1B architecture (Databases, Application Servers); UNIX knowledge including basic Shell Script and Progress OpenEdge on AIX; MS Windows knowledge. The role comprises: Analysis of the Roundtable Custom Code; Determination of the changes that should be performed to include a new development environment; Analysis of the SARA application code and determination of the changes that should be performed to include a new development environment; Analysis of the architecture of the Progress-based Sara application; Analysis of the current Software Configuration Management Process. The deliverables include: List of development tasks; Estimated workload; Costs; Implementation planning; Recommendations on Roundtable usage and integration approach. |
