Technical Infrastructure Manager required by Tier 1 Investment Bank, the Technical Infrastructure Manager role is key in maintaining the relationship between Global Banking and Markets IT Development and the global infrastructure teams. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing global standard infrastructure solutions to their supported asset classes, working with the asset class owners to define, deliver and execute on strategy in a cost efficient manner. This role will be responsible for: Act as an interface between Global Banking and Markets IT and the global infrastructure teams for consumption, capacity, performance and service management, work with the Production Services Management teams to continually improve service monitoring and reporting with the aim to improve service availability and quality, manage, in conjunction with production support units production incidents and problems through to resolution and remediation, manage and review the infrastructure budget for the respective asset class on a regular basis for the respective asset class, ensure effective infrastructure capacity management is performed for the respective asset class, understand the cost of each of the services for the supported asset class globally and the elements of infrastructure used to deliver that service, act as a consultant to GBM IT Developers on matters of current architecture and super stack definitions to ensure that future services comply with group standard s and move GBM towards a simplified and scalable infrastructure, work with GBM IT Development and infrastructure teams to ensure practical rationalisation occurs as part of evergreening without introducing risk to the current services, advise and guide on the choices of technology to decrease time to market, contain costs, ensure reliability, operability and best suited levels of resilience and HA technology, partner with the GBM Senior IT Relationship Manager to explain service outages to the business, attend Technical Steering Groups, Project Steering Committees and other meetings to support the GBM IT Relationship Manager, Development and Production Support Managers, actively partner with the asset class owners, senior managers and development heads to ensure that all new initiatives and projects are communicated to the infrastructure teams in a timely fashion. Essentail experience includes: Have a good understanding of Front Office (FX, Equities, Futures, Fixed Income, Credit, etc) businesses. Able to translate business needs into appropriate IT solutions, experience of IT in an Investment Bank, manager level with appropriate technical experience, To complement the skill set within the team a background of either IT Development Management or Production Support Management role within a financial institution will be an advantage.
