| Description: | My investment banking client based in the City of London is looking fro an experienced DBA to join the Datacentre DBA team to contribute to the advancement of the RDBMS environment and build new Sybase and SQL Server servers in the new Datacentre. You will be required to have a strong understanding of both of these database products and worked within a global organisation as part of a large dedicated DBA team. In-depth administration experience of building and supporting Sybase 12.5 (both ASE and Replication server) is essential along with strong SQL Server (ideally 2005 and 2008) knowledge. Any other RDBMS experience is beneficial but not essential to the role. other useful skills in some scripting experience (ideally Perl) for the purpose of housekeeping and monitoring within a large-scale RDBMS environment. Th environment youd be working for this role is 24x7 production support so some exposure to this type of environment, ideally within the investment banking sector so you know the difference between Front and Bank Office, is also needed.
