I recently read an article describing how personal computers will look in 20 years. Don’t get me wrong, it truly is amazing how technology has advanced so rapidly in the past 20 years, and I can only imagine what the next 20 years have in store, but where do we draw the line?
According to Wired Magazine, they have spoken to many well-educated and successful individuals who explained how they anticipate technology’s advancement in the years to come. It’s obvious how far we have come since the breakthrough of Programma 101, which was the first commercial desktop PC. However, will we go as far as becoming part of the I, Robot clan? (Will Smith slayed in a classic film that is coincidentally based in 2035, 19 years from now!) Are these movies the sign of what’s to come? Will Arnold Swarzenegger really be back?
On a more serious note...
Andy Adamatzky, Director for the Unconventional Computing Centre, University of the West of England says that computers will be inside of us? Part of us and will grow with us?!
Charles M. Lieber, a Professor of Chemistry at Harvard University, shared that plans already exist to be able to inject a chip into the brain that will read your thoughts and then project them on to a computer. Real life mind reading?! Amazing or totally insane?!
