Business Analyst - Commodities - Contract (Inside IR35)
Cititec are working with a London based client who are looking for a Business Analyst with experience of working with commodity trading firms to join them on an initial 6-month contract. The initial scope of the contract is to work on some regulatory change projects, including EMIR transaction reporting and the UMR regulations. Suitable candidates will have knowledge of various asset classes within commodities, coupled with a decent level of technical ability across SQL and Excel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with various business stakeholders to define solutions and implement change
- Data analysis and understanding of IT system architecture to produce functional specifications
- Work closely with various IT teams such as Development to ensure the technical solutions are fit for purpose
- Provide support for testing of software changes
- Produce functional specifications covering areas of change management as required
- Liaise with the wider technology teams to coordinate interdependencies and resolve issues
- Facilitate meetings and workshops, taking responsibility for changes assigned to you and obtaining sign-off of acceptance criteria and managing through to implementation
- Oversee risks and issues effectively with timely escalation to the Product Owner or Delivery Manager
Key Requirements:
- Experience working within a commodity trading environment - ideally with knowledge of Energy trading
- Knowledge of OTC Derivatives trading
- 5+ years of experience working as a business analyst within financial services
- Competent with SQL - able to query databases
- Comfortable dealing with large sets of data and good Excel skills
- Experience of working within an agile environment
- Ability to ownership of an analysis process on a project from gathering requirements through to implementation
